Niton srl was founded in 2017 to fill a need in the Italian market for CR-39 passive detectors. In a short time, thanks to excellent service and high-quality detectors (FIDOtrack), Niton became the leading company in Italy for measuring medium and long-term radon concentrations. Besides FIDOtrack detectors, Niton has provided radon testing and mitigation supplies in Europe and has offered related services such as short-term radon measurements, radon instrument rentals, and radon mitigation under the brand name RadonMarket. The services were expanded to the RadonMarket Academy eLearning platform and AppoRad mobile application. By presenting a wide range of products and services to professionals and homeowners, RadonMarket is the leading European platform specializing in radon supplies and services.
A STAR IS BORN
Starting in 2020, thanks to our close relationship with radon professionals, we learned about a huge demand for radon measuring instrument calibration services at the national and European levels. Therefore, for almost a full year, our R&D engineers studied several solutions to develop an efficient and economical approach to fulfill this need. The outcome was an innovative method called HYBRID MODE, which improves the conventional mode of operation used by radon calibration facilities. This creative mode of operation makes controlling and adjusting the variation of activity concentration of radon inside the calibration chamber more practical. An innovative technique was also designed to exhaust the radon gas faster and more securely. From that time, our priority was building a radon calibration laboratory that benefits from these new techniques. Eventually, in July 2022, after two years of hard work, the radon calibration laboratory under the brand name RADONSTAR was ready to support radon professionals. And we can proudly announce that A STAR IS BORN.
INVENTORS
The innovations employed in the radon calibration mode of operation and the exhaust system were invented and developed by Dr. Reza Hosseini and Eng. Gianluca Troiano. Two patent applications have been submitted for these inventions at the Italian and European levels.

Dr. Reza Hosseini joined Niton srl in 2018 as an R&D manager. In 2019, to achieve the company’s mission, he created the RadonMarket platforms, including RadonMarket marketplace, RadonMarket Academy, and its mobile application, AppoRad. He is also a co-founder of the innovative Qalib srl start-up and one of the two inventors of the patent application submitted by Qalib for an innovative personal dosimeter bracelet.

Eng. Gianluca Troiano founded Niton Srl in 2017, coming from 20 years of experience as C.T.O. of one of the most important dosimetry services in Italy. In the last 20 years, he has supported many big and international companies as a radiation protection expert. He is also a co-founder of the innovative Qalib srl start-up and one of the two inventors of the patent application submitted by Qalib for an innovative personal dosimeter bracelet.
